This 7-day will take you through most of the Africa’s outstanding wildlife sanctuaries
with the highest concentration of animal species that include Serengeti National
which hosts the world’s largest annual animal migration: over millions of wildebeests,
zebras, and gazelles trek kilometres from Tanzania to Kenya in search for fresh
greener grass charging across the famous Mara River know as “the river of death”
due to high infestation of crocodiles, other parks include Ngorongoro, Lake Nakuru in
Kenya, Lake Naivasha and Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Itinerary

On the first day of your safari adventure, your friendly and experienced driver will
greet you at the airport or your hotel in Nairobi. They will provide you with a
comprehensive briefing about the entire safari, ensuring that you are well-prepared
and informed for the journey ahead.
As you set off on your expedition to Lake Nakuru National Park, you’ll be treated to a
picturesque drive that spans approximately 3-4 hours. Along the way, you’ll have the
opportunity to marvel at the breathtaking sights of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.
This geological wonder stretches from the northern Middle East to the southern
reaches of Mozambique, showcasing its dynamic and active nature through
volcanoes, hot springs, and geysers.
Afterward, you will embark on a scenic journey to Lake Naivasha, a stunning
freshwater lake nestled in the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a relaxing
boat ride, gliding over the calm waters while taking in the panoramic views of the
surrounding landscape. Keep your camera ready, as you may spot a variety of
wildlife, including hippos and a fantastic array of bird species.

Following the boat ride, you will take part in a guided nature walk along the lake’s
shoreline. This immersive experience will allow you to explore the diverse flora and
fauna of the area, while also learning about its ecological significance. Immerse
yourself in the tranquil atmosphere and enjoy the beauty of nature all around you.

Later in the day, you’ll embark on an exhilarating drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Known for its spectacular population of migrating flamingoes and over 350 other
species of birds, the park provides a birdwatcher’s paradise. You will arrive in time for
lunch and enjoy the surroundings. Lake Nakuru National Park serves as a vital
sanctuary for the endangered black and white rhino species, offering you the
possibility of encountering these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

After an early morning breakfast to kick-start your day, you’ll check out of your
accommodation and embark on an exciting morning game drive through the stunning
landscapes of Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is renowned for its diverse
wildlife and breathtaking scenery, providing incredible opportunities for those
passionate about nature and animal observation. As you traverse the park’s winding
roads, you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including herds of grazing
giraffes, lions lounging in the sun, and flocks of vibrant birds soaring overhead. The
serene ambiance of the park, combined with the thrill of wildlife watching, ensures an
unforgettable experience for all nature enthusiasts. After the game we proceed to
Maasai Mara Game Reserve with a lunch break en route, and after we proceed to
the hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.

You will begin the day with an early breakfast, followed by a full day in the park. It’s
an amazing experience exploring every corner of the Maasai Mara savanna
grasslands characterized by interspersed thickets that provide perfect hideouts for
predators. On a lucky day, expect to encounter prides of lions enjoying their spoils
earned from the previous night hunts, leopards retreating to their homes, and hyenas
roaming the savanna scavenging around for a meal. As the day goes on, you will
have a picnic lunch at one of the scenic spots in the presence of wildlife. Thanks to
the expansive Masai Mara plains, you can have a wide view of the surroundings to
avoid becoming prey to lions. The savanna plains are filled with wildebeest during
the migration season from early July to early October. Zebras, impalas, topis,

giraffes, and Thomson’s gazelles are commonly seen, as cheetahs, jackals, and bat-
eared foxes. Hippos and enormous Nile crocodiles are abundant in the Mara River,

waiting for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest in search for new
pastures.

Later, in the evening, you will return to the Maasai community for the cultural
experience, you will get a chance to immerse yourself in the Maasai culture and
learn about their way of life. Afterward, we will return to the camp for dinner and an
overnight stay.

You will kick-start your day with a delightful early morning breakfast. Following this,
you will be provided with packed lunch boxes as you prepare to head towards the
Tanzanian border post located at Isebania. At the border post, you will be greeted by
our Tanzanian liaison, who will facilitate your smooth transfer to the Serengeti. It is
crucial to ensure that you have a valid visa to enter Tanzania, as obtaining a visa
upon arrival can be time-consuming.

Once you have completed the immigration formalities at the Kenya/Tanzania border
at Isebania, you will switch to a different vehicle for the onward journey. Brace
yourself for a long but awe-inspiring drive, offering breathtaking scenery that will
leave an indelible impression. As you progress deeper into the Serengeti, you will
come to understand the significance of its name, which translates to “endless plains”
in the local language. This remarkable region serves as the habitat for the Great
Migration, boasting a population of 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of
zebras, and various types of antelopes.

As the day draws to a close, you will be warmly welcomed at the Kon tiki Tented
Camp, where you will check in and unwind after a rewarding day of exploration.

Serengeti National Park is a designated World Heritage Site filled with Wildlife. The
Park is home to over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs,
and around 500 bird species. We are completely flexible and will organize the day
according to your preferences. Your guide will discuss the best timings for activities
such as game drives and wake-up times. For example, on this day, you could start
with a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation, and then go
for another afternoon game drive. Alternatively, you could opt for a full-day game
drive with a picnic lunch and explore the majestic wildlife of Serengeti including lions,
wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. After a full
day of game viewing, you will return to the lodge for refreshment and to reflect on
your experience of the day’s activities. Dinner will later be served and overnight.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Kon tiki Tented Camp

After breakfast, you will set out for the last game drive in the Serengeti plains where
you will encounter most wildlife. Thereafter, we will proceed to the stunning
Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its
breathtaking landscapes and incredible wildlife. On our way to Ngorongoro, we will
have a break and enjoy our picnic lunch around Naabi Hill Gate. After lunch, you
may need to have the scenic hike to the top of the hill a picturesque spot that offers
breathtaking views and stunning vantage points overlooking the vast Serengeti
plains. and later we proceed to the lodge in the Karatu area for sunset, dinner, and
an overnight stay. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Farm of Dreams Lodge

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, we will check out with our packed lunch
and start the drive descending into the 100-square-mile Ngorongoro Crater to view
the game on the vast grasslands of the crater floor. Here you can expect to find the
Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, among other wildlife. Ngorongoro
Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and is surrounded by steep walls
rising 610 meters from the floor. Spectacular animal life can be found throughout the
year due to the permanent availability of grass and water. After at least five hours of
incredible wildlife viewing, we will enjoy a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool within the
crater. Following lunch, we will ascend the crater and embark on a scenic journey to
Arusha for your departure.
